Bentley sophomore Paul Cheek, and 2011 graduates Vikram Chabra and Monil Kothari were recognized for co-founding Luvn’ Local, a technology-driven loyalty platform that networks small, locally owned businesses and rewards customers for their support.

Bentley University announces a call for submissions to doctoral candidates to submit papers for consideration in the fourth annual Next Generation ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Workshop, held in conjunction with the Bentley Global Business Ethics Symposium the week of May 20, 2012.

A standing-room-only crowd gathered for Bentley University’s 26th annual Celebration for Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. on January 24, 2012. Keynote Darryl Vernon Poole, 21-year Bentley University Trustee Emeritus, delivered a powerful message emphasizing the strength of the individual and the ability to change the world by saving a child.

Bedard’s research has focused on various aspects of improving audit quality. While her earlier research studied individual auditors’ decisions, her more recent studies examine firm-level quality control practices and regulation. In that scope, Bedard co-wrote a series of papers with Karla Johnstone (University of Wisconsin-Madison) that investigates factors associated with why audit firms either accept or decline certain companies as audit clients. She was honored at the organization’s Midyear Conference and Doctoral Consortium in Savannah, GA, in January.  

On Monday, February 6, at 2:00 p.m., the Bentley Verizon Visiting Professorship in Business Ethics will feature renowned business ethics scholar Patricia Werhane, who will explore ways businesses can respond to pressures to globalize without losing their integrity.

Bentley University’s 26th annual Celebration for Reverend Martin Luther King Jr., will feature 21-year Bentley University Trustee Emeritus, Darryl Vernon Poole ‘68, as the keynote speaker on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m., in the Executive Dining Room in the LaCava Center. A Bentley graduate and certified internal auditor, Poole received a Master’s in Management Sciences from The Alfred P. Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.undefined

Continuing its successful track record in career placement, Bentley University’s 99 percent placement rate for 2011 graduates is defying current job market statistics. A recent survey of Bentley’s Class of 2011 shows that 78 percent of the responding graduates are employed and 21 percent are attending grad school full time – resulting in a placement rate of 99 percent.
