Bentley University mourns the loss of a beloved member of our community, Dick Cross, retired Professor of Accounting, who passed away on December 20, 2012. With the help of family, friends, colleagues and former students, the Bentley community will honor the life of Dick Cross on February 19 at 5:00pm.

The fascinating life of Helen Suzman, the iconic South African leader who devoted her life to the fight against apartheid, is the focus of a graphic panel exhibition at the McGladery Art Gallery in the library at Bentley University, January 22 to February 22, 175 Forest Street in Waltham, Mass.

Bentley University welcomes Neal A. Lester as the keynote speaker at the 27th annual celebration breakfast in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Lester, associate vice president of humanities & arts for the Office of Knowledge Enterprise Development and Foundation Professor of English at Arizona State University (ASU), is known for his teaching and scholarship in African American literary and cultural study.

Bob Galliers, University Distinguished Professor at Bentley, received the prestigious LEO Award for Lifetime Exceptional Achievement in Information Systems from the Association for Information Systems (AIS) at the 2012 International Conference on Information Systems in Orlando, Florida, December 17.

Bentley University has named Jonathan White, PhD its new Director of Service-Learning, replacing Edward Zlotkowski, one of the founders of Bentley’s Service-Learning Center who postponed his retirement to act as the center’s director for the past two years.  

Bentley University announced four faculty members and a doctoral candidate as recipients of the Innovation in Teaching Award 2012: Mystica Alexander; George Fishman; Mark Frydenberg; Jay Thibodeau; and Denise Hanes.

Bentley teams were seeded first and fifth out of 46 teams competing in the Eastern Regional Tournament of the American Collegiate Moot Court Association, a competition where student teams simulate arguments before the Supreme Court.

Undergraduate students in a Corporate Immersion Marketing class taught by James Pouliopoulos spent their fall semester testing the usability and effectiveness of an iPad app implemented by Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) in their dealers to improve customer experience and close sales.

The Bentley campus community will come together for a student-led vigil to remember the 26 victims of the tragic school shooting. It will be held on the evening of December 17th at 9:15 p.m. in the Back Bay Rooms in the Student Center.
