The millennial generation is becoming increasingly aware of how their career choice can contribute to the broader community. Bentley freshmen explored summer internship opportunities with non-profits at an April internship fair sponsored by the Undergraduate Career Services Office. Students who participated in CDI 101, a groundbreaking career development course for first-year students, attended the program with résumés in hand, prepared to network and gain insight into opportunities.

In today’s rapidly shifting global marketplace, it is clear that businesses struggle to know their boundaries, uphold integrity, abide by government regulations and remain accountable for their actions on all fronts. To explore these practices and challenges in business ethics, Bentley will host its 9th Annual Global Business Ethics Symposium sponsored by State Street Foundation on Monday, May 20.

A team of Bentley undergraduate students headed to Captiol Hill to canvas congressional leaders about implementing a new “Energy 101” curriculum aimed at teaching basic energy principles at U.S. colleges and universities.

Bentley has continued strong efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and received two recent accolades for its sustainability practices: inclusion in The Princeton Review’s list of top environmentally responsible colleges in the U.S. and Canada, and winning the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s 2012-2013 College & University Green Power Challenge for using more green power than any other school in the Northeast-10 Conference.

Commencement is Saturday, May 18, 2013.

A service-learning faculty award to Michael Goldberg (Information Design and Corporate Communication) will establish a full-service graphic design business to serve nonprofit organizations, as a fourth-credit practicum for qualified students in his courses.

Martha (Marty) Howe’s innovative teaching and research in the field of forensic accounting earned an Educator of the Year Award from the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Service initiatives on anti-bullying, mental health, afterschool programs, and housing earned accolades for Bentley. For the seventh year, the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) named Bentley University to the President's 2013 Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.

As organizations are increasingly looking to retain and advance talented women, the Center for Women and Business at Bentley University is answering the call and hosting Best Practices Forums - a series of events meant to engage thought leaders and business professionals from around the world and provide solutions for organizations to adopt a culture of inclusion in order to harness the full potential of current and future women leaders.
